The European Accessibility Act (EAA) came into force on 28 June 2025. While the EAA’s direct application to Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products Key Information Document (PRIIPs KIDs) has not been formally confirmed, investment firms are increasingly expected to ensure disclosures are accessible to all audiences, especially when distributed digitally.

A client recently came to us with a question:

What’s happening?

The EAA aims to make key digital products and services more accessible to people with disabilities. It aligns with standards such as WCAG and supports accessible formats like PDF/UA, which screen readers and assistive technologies easily interpret.

Although PRIIPs may not be explicitly covered by the EAA, regulatory and investor expectations around accessibility are evolving.

So what’s the challenge?

• Disclosure cycles are already tight, leaving little room for additional manual formatting or accessibility adjustments. There’s little clarity on how accessibility intersects with current rules
• Teams don’t have time for manual fixes or reformatting
