Carl Bacon receives the CFA Institute Award for Leadership in Professional Ethics and Standards of Investment
On the 11th September 2019, at this year’s GIPS® Annual Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, Carl Bacon CIPM, Chief Advisor at StatPro Group was honored by the CFA Institute Board of Governors for his exemplary contribution to the investment profession.
The awards set out to recognize an individual’s outstanding leadership, impactful contributions, long-standing service, and commitment to ethics and standards.
Carl was honored for his pursuit of excellence in professional ethics and standards of practice as well as demonstrating outstanding leadership in advocating the integrity and competence of the profession.
Founding member of the Investment Performance Council and the Global Performance Presentation Standards Subcommittee, Carl is also chair of the GIPS® Executive Committee as well as being a member of the advisory board of the Journal of Performance Measurement. He is a Chief Advisor at StatPro Group plc and runs his own consultancy business providing advice to asset managers on various risk and performance measurement issues. He is also founder of the Freedom Index Company.
Carl is well regarded in the industry as a performance expert and has been an integral player in the GIPS® standards for the past 25 years. He actively promotes the standards at conferences and events and carries out performance measurement training globally. He is also the author of Practical Performance Measurement & Attribution and Practical Risk-Adjusted Performance Measurement and editor of Advanced Portfolio Attribution Analysis.
