How Portfolio Holdings Works

Collect and validate data from various sources – Automatically collect holdings data from your fund accounting system, market data from your licensed providers, and contributing information from upstream systems. Once data is brought into the system, it is mapped against historical data to identify and clear any data exceptions.Users have the flexibility to apply securities updates to a specific fund, a subset of funds, or for all funds across the enterprise.

Preview draft reports – Unity Financial Reporting automatically assembles data into stylized templates for holdings reports and sub-schedules to streamline your review process. It also automatically flags, footnotes, sorts, groups, and aggregates and rounds holdings data. Using the proprietary Holdings Mapper™, users can easily map trial balance and general ledger data. In addition, the Snippets footnote library allows users to repurpose note text across multiple reports for greater consistency and control.

Confirm and validate draft content – The system automatically compares holdings records to those of previous cycles and third-party sources and automatically presents data conflicts and exceptions to users for resolution. Adjustments are made directly through the user interface, which provides a valuable audit trail of changes.

Publish the end-to-end holdings reports – Complete holdings reports and related reports (sub-schedules) are automatically created for delivery to relevant stakeholders in the required format – including Microsoft Word®, Microsoft Excel® and Adobe Acrobat® print-ready* PDFs or Web file.
