Confluence Mourns Passing of Chief Legal Officer Karen Brownlee
July 13, 2015
Confluence, with great sadness, announced today that Karen Brownlee passed away on July 10, 2015 following a heroic battle with cancer. Ms. Brownlee was 52 years old.
"This is a terrible loss for all of us here at Confluence," said Mark Evans, Confluence President and CEO. "Karen dedicated more than 15 years of her career to helping to build Confluence into a great company. She was a brilliant attorney and a greatly admired member of the Confluence leadership team. In all aspects of life she was an amazing demonstration of grace and courage. While Karen was extraordinarily passionate about her work and Confluence, her greatest pride was her family. Our thoughts are with her husband Jay and her sons Justin and Ian. We will miss Karen deeply."
Ms. Brownlee earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
She joined Confluence in July of 2000 and served as corporate counsel and legal advisor to the sales, marketing, product development and human resource functions, and also served as the company's risk management officer and corporate secretary. Prior to joining Confluence, she served as corporate counsel for Federated Investors, Inc.
