Operational Leadership Team
As Vice President of Client Experience, Bill leads Confluence’s professional services and operations departments. His responsibilities include the areas of service excellence, adoption and delivery, product support, upgrades and optimal usage and controlled outsource production. A financial services industry veteran, he has overseen on-boarding, support and new regulatory requirements for over 12,000 investment pools globally. Bill has spent most of his career working in technology solutions focused on products and processes with an emphasis on fund administration. He has lengthy experience across organizations, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, and has held functional positions in project management, implementations, production support, product management and client management. Over his career, Bill has serviced a broad array of clients in mutual, hedge, and private equity funds. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Widener University and is active in several industry groups and trade associations.
As Chief Technology Officer, Chris is responsible for setting the technology strategy and roadmap across platforms and products, as well as the company’s internal technology. He oversees the global architecture team and works closely with Confluence’s product and engineering leadership to ensure the alignment of product and technology initiatives. His accomplishments include defining the architecture for the Unity® platform and leading the transition to web-based software services through the Unity NXT™ SaaS platform architecture. Chris holds a bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh.
As Chief Legal Officer, Chris oversees the legal aspects of Confluence’s global operations and leads the effort to target and acquire promising businesses, technologies and teams that serve the asset management industry. Evans originally joined Confluence in 2014 as Assistant General Counsel after working as an associate at Saul Ewing LLP. Prior to that, Evans was an associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in Washington, DC. Evans is admitted to the Bar in Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia and Maryland. He graduated cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in May 2008 and from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2007 with a master’s degree in Public Policy.
As Client Experience Strategy Director, Clinton is responsible for the creation of strategic and sustainable client account management and service models to ensure Confluence has the best tools and processes to measure client satisfaction and ultimately increase client retention. Clinton has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. He spent 17 years at UBS in COO roles covering most asset classes and is a qualified South African and British-chartered accountant, having completed training with Deloitte. He has a bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
As Chief Financial Officer for Confluence, Winston is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and finance operations. Winston has led Confluence to successfully complete three acquisitions to date: Data Agent in 2013, Orfival in 2014 and StatPro Group in 2019. Joining the firm’s former San Francisco office in 2011, Winston has a strong background in corporate strategy and analysis, management and business development and venture capital. He previously worked at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray Ventures and Broncus Technologies, Inc. As a Sloan Fellow at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, Winston earned a Master of Science degree in Management. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Williams College.
As Vice President of Global Market Strategy, Gary is responsible for overseeing market research analysis and developing and delivering marketing and messaging to support Confluence’s growth. Gary has more than 27 years of experience in the financial services industry with an in-depth understanding of mutual fund operations, technology, regulations, project management and quality control. Before joining Confluence, he held the position of Head of Financial Reporting and Expense Administration at BBH. Prior to that, he served as the Head of the Treasury and Portfolio Compliance group at JP Morgan. Gary has a bachelor’s degree from Bryant University in Business Administration with a focus in Finance.
As Senior Vice President of Engineering, Jory is responsible for overseeing engineering operations; including the management, development and execution of initiatives that drive product and operational success. An accomplished application development executive, Jory is an expert in leading teams to deliver technological solutions to business problems. Prior to his current role at Confluence, Jory spent 14 years at FIS in various engineering roles, including Vice President of Product Engineering and Vice President of Development. His experience building global teams and managing development projects has allowed him to deliver high quality, sustainable and secure solutions for Confluence and its clients.
As Vice President of M&A Integration, Katie is responsible for driving the successful integration of the company’s post-merger-&-acquisition and the business model transformation for Confluence. Katie was most recently in a Senior Product Strategy role responsible for identifying market trends and bringing these insights to the internal product and market strategy teams for execution. She has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry spanning asset management, wealth management and financial technology. Before joining Confluence, Katie served as Global Solution Manager at SS&C Technologies. Prior to that, she spent ten years at UBS Global Asset Management, where she served as UK Head of Performance. Katie earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Babes-Bolyai University in Romania.
As Assistant Vice President of Operational Excellence, Denise is responsible for interpreting and analyzing data across the company to drive growth by using key metrics and creating reports based on the analysis of data. She is also heavily involved in sales operations and projects across various functional areas of the company that include establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, monitoring progress, problem-solving, adjusting plans and ensuring projects are completed on time and in scope.
As Vice President of Global Product Strategy, Tom handles Confluence’s global product development and strategy for performance and analytics, risk, regulatory reporting, data technology and investor communications. Since joining Confluence in 2007, he has held several roles including Global Head of Regulatory Reporting Solutions and positions in the Product Design and Services divisions. Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
Craig is responsible for the business development of the the combined Confluence product offering in the South African market. Craig joined StatPro, (now part of Confluence) in October 2013 as the South African CEO. Craig had previously seeded and run a pre-eminent South African fund accounting business where he was for 11 years; and prior to that had been involved in the trading and derivative structuring space.
Marc has worked within the financial services industry for over 25 years. He started his career working for Arthur Andersen and then moved into Asset Management having spent time at Rothschild Asset Management and Insight Investment. The natural next step was to join a leading Management consulting firm focused on strategic initiatives within the Buy Side. His experience on the buy-side has given him a deep appreciation of the challenges faced within the industry. Marc joined StatPro South Africa in 2008, later becoming CEO, South Africa. In 2013, Marc joined the London team as a Group Executive Board member focus on Global Services and over time he took over as the Global Sales Director. With the sale of StatPro to Confluence in 2019 his focus is now on the combined Confluence product offering as Head of Sales for the EMEA and APAC markets.
Christina came to StatPro (now part of Confluence) in 2010 after having worked in the private precious metals industry, during the 2008 crisis she helped build a team and oversee massive growth in this industry. She began as an analyst at the company, and is proud to have been part of the growth and improvement of the market data operations team. While Christina’s primary role is managing the Equity and Index Data Operations team, she is also involved in compliance, contract negotiations and many other ongoing projects related to our valuations business.
Wayne originally joined Confluence in 2014 as the Business Analyst before moving into his current role in 2015. He currently manages the FPA team and oversees the annual budgeting and forecasting processes as well as playing a key role in bridging the gap between Finance and the rest of the business to ultimately play a part in increasing the company’s efficiency and profitability.
As Head of North America Business Development and the Global Account Management Program, Domenic leads Confluence’s efforts to increase penetration of its suite of solutions in both North America and within their key strategic global partners. He is responsible for implementing sales strategies to meet organizational sales objectives including annualized recurring revenue and client retention. Domenic has more than 15 years of fintech experience in the financial services and technology industries. Since joining Confluence in 2005 he has held senior leadership roles including Director of North American Business Development, as well as various positions in the Sales Operations and Professional Services divisions. Domenic earned bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Business Administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
Mark Evans founded Confluence in 1991 with a vision to revolutionize the asset management industry through technology innovation and data management automation. Under his leadership, Confluence has grown to be recognized as a global leader delivering solutions that turn investment data into financial intelligence and are distributed to the world. In 2011, Mark received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year® Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia Award in the Technology category. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. In addition to his role with Confluence, Evans is a dedicated community leader who passionately promotes business growth, supports entrepreneurialism in connection with local universities and the vitality of the non-profit community. Evans studied Computer Science at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh.
As President and Chief Operating Officer of Confluence, Todd is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, optimizing revenue generation across North America and Europe and evaluating growth potential in adjacent geographic markets globally. A 20-year financial services technology industry veteran, Todd provides strategic and operational direction while focusing on global expansion and ensuring operational accountability. He leads the company’s operations functions as well as market-facing activities which include sales, account management and marketing. Todd has an accomplished track record of helping financial services firms of all sizes adopt innovative solutions to drive revenue. Prior to joining Confluence, he was executive vice president of SunGard’s Wealth Management business, where he was responsible for the sales strategy and delivery of integrated wealth management solutions. Prior to joining SunGard, Todd was a principal of Mid Atlantic Institutional Shares (“MAIS”), where he was responsible for the firm’s flagship mutual fund trade-routing platform. MAIS was acquired by SunGard in 2002. He has also served as a senior consultant for the Economic and Financial Consulting division of Arthur Anderson LLP.
