Joan Tesla leads brand management and strategic marketing and communications programs for Confluence. Since joining the firm in 2006 as Director of Marketing, she has been responsible for strategic branding, demand generation, thought leadership, influencer marketing, public relations, events, and new market penetration. She was promoted to her current position in 2010.
Tesla has more than 20 years of experience leading marketing and brand management programs for financial services and technology companies, as well as healthcare and nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining Confluence, she was Director of Marketing for Haley Systems, a provider of business rules technology, where her initiatives significantly increased sales leads. She previously was Marketing Director for ServiceWare and Eckerd Health Services. She also served as Vice President of Marketing Communications for United Way of Allegheny County, PA.
Tesla began her career with Federated Investors, where she worked for 11 years and was responsible for marketing institutional mutual funds and separate accounts to bank trust departments, not-for-profit institutions, and corporations. Her accomplishments included the packaging of the company’s first 401(k) offering and the development of programs to market the conversion of employee benefit assets to bank private label mutual funds.
She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University. She is Pragmatic Marketing Certified.
